On the Road with Radioddity: Promoting Amateur Radio Across Spain and Portugal

At Radioddity, we are always thrilled to see our equipment being used to promote amateur radio and support academic initiatives on an international stage. Recently, we had the honor of having our products featured during an official IEEE Communications Society (ComSoc) Distinguished Lecturer Program (DLP) tour for the class of 2025‑2026.

The tour was conducted by Miroslav “Misko” Skoric (YT7MPB), who traveled across Spain and Portugal in April 2026 to deliver a series of public talks. It provided an excellent opportunity to promote "ham" radio—including FM and DMR voice modes, as well as packet data mode—to local radio amateurs, students, and teachers.

Throughout the entire tour, Misko carried a selection of our VHF/UHF radios: the Radioddity GD‑77GD‑88, and DB25‑D. These devices were utilized not only for voice operations but also for APRS data exchange. To facilitate this, the radios were programmed to local repeater frequencies in Madrid‑Leganes and Valladolid (Spain), as well as Covilhã and Lisbon (Portugal).

During the tour, Misko introduced the Radioddity DB25‑D, highlighting its specific ability to transmit its positioning data in APRS mode.

During dedicated demonstration sessions, both the GD‑77 and DB25‑D were successfully put to work, showcasing simultaneous data (APRS) and voice operations.

Introducing the HF‑010 Antenna to Academic Audiences

In addition to the handheld and mobile radios, our Radioddity HF‑010 portable antenna was featured prominently. Arriving in Spain right on schedule, the antenna was unpacked and presented directly to academic audiences at multiple stops:

Looking Forward

It was a wonderful experience for our brand to be promoted among students, teachers, and local amateur radio communities across Spain and Portugal. We would like to congratulate Miroslav “Misko” Skoric on a successful tour, where he operated under the special callsigns EH4MPB in Spain and CR6MPB in Portugal.

Misko is already looking forward to planning his next international DLP lectures in other destinations. In the near future, the GD‑77, GD‑88, DB25‑D, and HF‑010 will also be featured on his official QRZ.com and LinkedIn profiles.

73, The Radioddity team!
